About Pompeii

The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD buried the city in about 7 meter mt thick layer of ash. And after 16 centuries in the 1748 during the nascent Kingdom of Carlo di Borbone "King of the Two Sicilies" began the escavations. The local inhabitants, escaping from their homes,but found their deaths on the streets:As testimony to this terrible tragedy, their agonized bodies, obtained by pouring plaster into the cavities left by the bodies in the layers of ash.

The most surprising aspect is the high number of public and private homes, luxurious or humble, that have preserved their bottles, ovens and others objects. but also the furnishings that have remained intact, permitting us to see into the most personal aspects of the life of the Romans, see where the Romans of 79 AD lived, worked, entertained and relaxed.
